Reminder: RCN-UBE Proposals Due January 21, 2020!

The deadline for all proposals in the Research Coordination Networks in Undergraduate Biology Education (RCN-UBE) program are due on January 21, 2020 – and here in DBI we’re here to support you every step of the way!

New to the program? Here’s what it’s all about: The RCN-UBE program seeks to improve undergraduate biology by leveraging the power of a collaborative network. Collectively, the program has contributed to developing and disseminating educational research resources and modules, to forging of new collaborations, and to sharing of best practices and ideas for scalability and sustainability of activities.

RCN-UBE proposals can be up to five years in duration, with budgets up to $500,000. To assist initial networking efforts of scientists and educators who are developing innovative proposals for the RCN-UBE program, the RCN-UBE will accept Incubator proposals for up to $75,000 for one year. You can read more about the RCN-UBE through its solicitation (NSF 18-510).

As a reminder: Program Officers from BIO/DBI and EHR/DUE are hosting office hours on Tuesdays (4:00 – 5:30 PM EST) and Fridays (12:00-1:30 PM EST) through Tuesday, January 21 (the day proposals are due). These office hours will be held via the video-conferencing platform WebEx. Links to the conferences – note that there is one for Tuesdays and one for Fridays; you must use the correct URL for the given day – are linked above and written out below.

To ask a question or discuss your project during office hours, join the conference at any time. If none of the times will work for you, please email one of the cognizant program officers to find a time to talk:
